The 2014 Godeau is quite a bit more compelling from bottle than it was from barrel. A powerful, intense wine, the 2014 exudes richness in its boldly sketched notes of dark cherry, plum, violet and lavender. Today, the wine is tightly wound, but it offers quite a bit of potential. There is a real feeling of density here. This is a terrific showing. The blend is 90 % Merlot and 10 % Cabernet Franc.
